![]() ![]() I was zipping along at 45 in a 30 before I knew it, this morning, thinking: I sure miss this guy. They circle back around to the tune’s original chugging, marrow-deep groove. “Achilles” takes an abrupt turn and we ride with Bonham up to Page’s thundering solo like the clack-clack-clack of a roller coaster … you know, you feel, that something big is going to happen.ĭoes it ever. He begins by powering an absolutely monstrous template, then delves into jazzy asides - deftly coloring the beat. Even Jimmy Page’s patented “army of guitars” sound is no match for Bonham’s charging fills. He now has the ability to quietly improvise on the heaviest of those heavy Led moans - including “blooze” throwbacks like “For Your Life” and “Tea for One.”Ī favorite is “Achilles Last Stand”: Bonham, and this is special, works as the lead instrument over roughly the first half of this song. But even in what should have been safe nostalgia, Bonham unleashes newfound, and surprisingly subtle, polyrhythms. Perhaps predictably, they were introspective. But this album belongs to Plant’s doomed drummer John Bonham, and that gives it a slow-rolling menace very familiar to fans of the band’s earliest work.īy 1976, Zeppelin had begun its slow descent, and Plant was recovering from a serious auto accident. ![]() They never sounded bluesier during a late ’70s period defined by debauchery - when, as Rolling Stone’s Stephen Davis famously wrote in his review of this album, you could “give an Englishman 50,000 watts, a chartered jet, a little cocaine and some groupies and he thinks he’s a god.”ĭavis is talking about singer Robert Plant, of course. What to make, then, of “Presence” - Led Zeppelin’s underrated seventh release? After all, this unpolished gem from that second period is actually best described as a moment when the band stopped for a longing look back. No, by then, Led Zep was a completely new synthesis. They weren’t sounding anything like the blues musicians they’d once blatantly emulated. traditionalists which it so rightly admired - the bulk of which appears from 1970 on.īy “III,” the Zeps had shed their then-growing reputation as blues cheats by presenting a sweetly cool-rocking set of mostly acoustic-based tunes - coupled with one of their best album-openers ever, “Immigrant Song.” From there on out, as the band rounded into its best creative period, Zeppelin displayed a newfound versatility and a refreshing willingness to dabble in various musical forms. And there’s little doubt that Led Zep found its true inspiration when the band stopped aping the early U.S. Further, “Bring It On Home” is just Sonny Boy Williamson, though perfectly amped up. Tolkien’s Lord Of The Rings.īut how’s this for un-revolutionary?: Led Zep was successfully sued for stealing Chicago blues legend Howlin’ Wolf’s “Killing Floor,” without giving any credit, on an “original” called “The Lemon Song” from the second CD. Parts of Zeppelin’s second album approached their more celebrated late-period brilliance - namely “Whole Lotta Love,” (the much better) “What Is and What Should Never Be” and “Ramble On,” which was lyrically linked to J.R.R. It wasn’t, however, all that interesting. They were, as much as anything, another British referendum on the brilliance of American blues music. Recorded over just 30 hours, these songs were presented in the same way Zeppelin would have done them on stage at the time - half rendition, half sweaty tribute. The band’s first album had, on its surface, only a copycat kind of appeal. Led Zeppelin wasn’t always this thundering, then nimble, amalgamation. ![]() ![]() ![]() Please enter security code that you see on the above box.Grab iPhone-Mounting Application Phone Disk Free Through Dec. They may still be English, but is seen by UMS as "unknown". The last "pair" may not seem to make a lot of sense, because why would you want subtitles in a foreign language that you don't understand? The reason it's there is that UMS can't always tell the language of the subtitles. "*,und" means: If the audio language is anything (English is excluded), use any subtitles language (English has already been excluded). "*,eng" means: If the audio is any language (except English since that's already been excluded) and English subtitles are available, use English subtitles. "eng, off" means: If the audio language is English, subtitles should not be displayed. They are interpreted in that order, so the first one that "matches" is used. There are three pairs in your configuration, "eng, off", "*,eng" and "*,und". This setting consists of pairs of audio and subtitle languages, and how to handle them. ![]() ![]() Drawing diagrams, schemas, graphs, and pictures with TikZ ( examples| manual| manual). ![]()

Measurement of lepton universality parameters in B +→K +ℓ +ℓ − and B 0→K *0ℓ +ℓ − decays. Test of lepton universality in b→sℓ +ℓ − decays. “These results are compatible with the expectation of our theory.” “The results shown today are the product of a comprehensive study of the two main modes using our full data sample and applying new, more robust techniques.” “Measurements of the ratios of rare B-meson decays to electrons and muons have generated much interest in recent years because they are theoretically ‘clean’ and show consistency with a pattern of anomalies seen in other flavor processes,” said LHCb Collaboration spokesperson Professor Chris Parkes, a physicist at the University of Manchester and CERN. The results, which supersede previous comparisons, are in excellent agreement with the principle of lepton flavor universality. In addition, the two decay modes are measured in two different mass regions, thus yielding four independent comparisons of the decays. It considers two different B-meson decay modes simultaneously for the first time and provides better control of the background processes that can mimic the decays of B-mesons to electrons. The new LHCb analysis, which has been ongoing for the past five years, is more comprehensive. Interest in the ‘flavor anomalies’ peaked in March 2021, when LHCb presented new results comparing the rates at which certain B mesons, composite particles that contain beauty quarks, decay into muons and electrons.Īccording to the theory, decays involving muons and electrons should occur at the same rate, once differences in the leptons’ masses are accounted for.īut the LHCb results hinted that B mesons decay into muons at a lower rate than predicted, as indicated by the results’ statistical significance of 3.1 standard deviations from the Standard Model prediction. In recent years, however, an accumulation of results from LHCb and experiments in Japan and the United States have suggested that this might not be the case, generating cautious excitement among physicists that a more fundamental theory - perhaps one that sheds light on the Standard Model’s mysterious flavor structure - might reveal itself at the LHC. Lepton flavor universality states that the fundamental forces are blind to the generation to which a lepton belongs. Image credit: CERN.Ī central mystery of particle physics is why the 12 elementary quarks and leptons are arranged in pairs across three generations that are identical in all but mass, with ordinary matter comprising particles from the first, lightest generation. ![]() ![]() ![]() Raids already have a mechanic to trivialize efficiency when farming the armors: speed/more reliable clears as a result of your knowledge & skill. Really they should be a catch-up mechanism for extra currency you may need (for PVP, league tickets or ascended shards, for WvW, skirmish tickets, memories of battle or badges of honor). "The maximum number of copies of an item your Legendary Armory can hold is determined by how many equipment slots it can occupy. Of course some communication from Anet to confirm my theory would be nice. So at this stage I think it will be fine and I assume that Conflux and Slumbering Conflux are both unique and hence you can have 1 of each across every template (and then turn the ball off on Conflux on whichever template you don't want to see it, which is pretty cool). If it works like that, then I can see that as being the reason for having the number limit. At which point, you can then use the forge and turn it into Conflux (of which you can only have 1) and as soon as you do that, it gets auto added. ![]() So in theory, if I then make another, it won't be auto-added (since you can only equip one) and hence would stay in inventory. Right now I only have Slumbering, and in theory you can only have 1 slumbering, which will get auto added to the armory. That is exactly what I was just wondering about. A good question now is how can I still make a Conflux from a Slumbering Conflux somehow? The moment you add it to your account it goes into the armory, do we get tokens to use that in the mystic forge like the ones you need for Eternity? ![]() ![]() ![]() Support for ARK on Stadia has been terminated Winter Wonderland 6 is live! OneNote is very much a full-blown application. In this review, I look at the desktop version of OneNote, because the UWP app has far fewer features. However, the company changed course in late 2019, announcing that it will continue to add new features to desktop version of OneNote and that the desktop version will once again be included with Office 365 as of March 2020. That’s because Microsoft had planned to kill the desktop app and focus instead on the UWP app. As I write this, the desktop version, although available for free as a separate download, is not included with Office 2019 or Office 365. Note that there are two versions of OneNote for Windows: a desktop app and a Windows 10 app, also known as a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app. I spend more time on the Windows version of each, but I’ll note similarities and differences in other versions as well. This isn't a deep-dive review, but rather a personal look at what I like and don't much like about each - and the main points of difference between the two. I'm a longtime user of both applications, so I've taken a look at the latest version of each for Windows, macOS, iPad, iPhone and Android. ![]() |
